Krzysztof Wodiczko - by Jose, Reuben and T'ana

Krzysztof Wodiczko is a popular Polish artist who makes his art to create awareness of growing issues around him. He was born in 1943 during the Warsaw Ghetto (one of the largest ghettos controlled by the Nazis during WWII). He grew up in Poland, earned his degrees there, and worked at Polish Optical Works before moving to Canada. In class, we discussed some of his works, particularly the Homeless Vehicle. We discussed whether or not this artistic invention of his brought light to homelessness, and we concluded that it did. Maybe by not so much then, but homelessness is publicized well now; homeless people just need more attention.
